3 Easy & Inexpensive Candy-Free Valentine’s Day Card DIYs (PLUS FREE PRINTABLES)

It’s that time of year when you break out the scissors, glitter, and candy hearts. But this year the note in your child’s backpack says his or her class is doing a candy-free holiday party. These are becoming more popular as a way for all children, whether they have an allergy or wiggly teeth, to take part in the card exchange fun! Easy switch! Save the candy hearts for yourself and check out these candy-free alternatives for your kiddo. 

With these DIYs it is recommended that grown-ups do the cutting and handling of sharp objects. Parental supervision is advised.

Play-Doh 

Play-Doh is every kid's favorite molding clay. From creating make-believe food, to using it as stress relief (even as a grownup it is a great de-stresser), a fresh pot of doh is always welcome. You can purchase party packs of the small 1 oz cans in quantities up to 42 for under $20 online. Simply print out the valentine cards below, cut, and attach the pot. Don't forget to have your little one sign their name!

Squeeze pouch

A popular snack option for kids and adults alike is a fruit & vegetable pouch. These come in many different varieties and quantities. Be sure to check with the teacher for any allergies there might be in class. Print the card below, cut, and pop the pouch through for a quick and easy Valentine.

Crayons

The most inexpensive on the list are the tried and true kid necessities: crayons. The best part of every kid’s menu is by far the crayons and accompanying coloring page that comes with it. Easily take that moment and turn it into a Valentine's day card. If there are 24 kids in the class, you will only need to buy two 24-packs or one 48-pack making this DIY at the most, maybe $4. Below are two printable options that allow for the placement of two crayons and a picture to color. Print, cut, place crayons, and finish with a nice signature from your kiddo.
