Did you know that when a child is involved in the preparation of their food, they are more likely to try it? Not only will this help your picky eater eat more things, but it will help you get more things done in the kitchen while being able to keep an eye on your toddler. Have your toddler climb up in their Toddler Tower and begin cooking!
1. Peanut Butter and Banana Bears
Ingredients:
Sliced Bread
Bananas
Nut Butter (any that you prefer)
Topping of choice - chocolate chips, coconut shavings, blueberries, etc.
Instructions:
Simply peel the banana and cut the bananas into circular slices. Then spread the nut butter on the slice of bread with a knife or have your child help by spreading with the back of a spoon. Finally, place the bananas and blueberries on the buttered bread in the shape of a cute bear!
2. Rainbow Fruit Salad
Ingredients:
As many different fruits as you would like.
Instructions:
Prep all your fruits by cutting them into small slices. Then have your little one sort them into different bowls to organize them. Make this into a game of matching and identification! Finally, have your child mix and stir the fruit salad all together!
3. Froyo Bites
Ingredients:
Plain Yogurt, 1 cup
Strawberries, 1 cup
Or
Blackberries, 1 cup
Instructions:
Measure out a cup of plain yogurt and a cup of the fruit of your choice. Blend the yogurt and fruit in a blender or food processor. Then take a small ice cube tray that makes bite-size ice normally and fill it with the mixture. Placing these in the freezer for around 2 hours will create a perfect solid yet soft froyo bite. If left in the freezer longer they will just need a little time to defrost before eating.
4. Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups
Ingredients:
Sliced Deli Ham
Cheese sticks or cheese slices
Instructions:
Layer a couple of slices of ham on top of each other and then take a cheese stick and place it at the top of the pile and begin to roll the slices onto the cheese surrounding the stick. From then you can slice the roll up into small bite-size pieces that are easier to eat for little ones.
5. Homemade Granola Bars
Ingredients:
2 cups of quick-cooking oats
1 cup of nut butter
¼ cup of honey, use more if needed
½ cup mini chocolate chips
½ cup of sliced almonds
Instructions:
