It's the season of giving! Get your little ones in on the fun by helping them create memorable homemade gifts that capture a moment in time for loved ones.

1. Fingerprint Christmas Tree 

Supplies:

• White construction paper
• Any other colored construction paper
• Scissors
• Paint

For this craft, cut out a tree from your colored paper and tape it to the white paper loosely, as you want to be able to take it off. Have your child place fingerprints all around the tree in different colors, even overlapping the paper. Let the prints dry and then remove the paper tree to reveal an outlined Christmas Tree surrounded by adorable fingerprints. 

2. Fingerprint Reindeer 

Supplies:

• Brown construction paper
• White construction paper
• Tape
• Googly eyes
• Paint
• Marker
• Red pompom

Want to get a little more creative? Make your own fingerprint reindeer! Carefully cut out a reindeer - antlers and all. Have them place their fingerprints in different colors around the antlers. While those dry, attaches the deer’s eyes and red nose, then draw its mouth - add some personality! Once dry, connect the fingerprints like they are string lights with a marker, finishing off a cute reindeer with a special memory.

3. Fingerprint Ornament

Supplies

• Air-dry clay
• Paint
• marker
• String

For the final craft, you will need to shape air-dry clay into a tree, or use a cookie cutter to punch it out. After it's shaped, have your child place their fingerprints into the clay to make indentations and paint the prints with desired colors. You can place these prints anywhere or in a pattern as they will be the lights of the Christmas tree. Connect the lights with a marker as shown and let dry completely. If you would like to add a string to hang this on your real tree, make sure you form a hole at the top of the tree before it dries.

All three of these crafts capture a moment in time and the precious size of your little one’s fingerprints that your family members can look back on. Add even more of a personal touch by having them write their name and date somewhere on the gift so this time is always remembered.
